FIRE.sys days 2009 / Follow-up

30.09.2009

Almost 70 clients from 40 companies participated in the FIRE.sys days in Frankfurt, Vienna and Göttingen – to some extent very actively with individual presentations and examples of use from their companies. Some of the highlights:

The new FIRE.sys Enterprise version

The focus of the FIRE.sys days was on client user reports showing how they were able to control the complex production process of annual reports in a better way using the new Enterprise modules FIRE.share and FIRE.work.

  • Ruth Müller (Deutsche Börse) and Prof. Klaus Kreulich informed about the latest developments in this field since the last FIRE.sys day:

  • Hornbach was able to eliminate the bottleneck during the final phase, when everybody wants to make corrections and amendments. Thanks to FIRE.share, 21 authors are now able to work on the reports simultaneously:

  • Owing to changed group structures, Sartorius needed to establish a new, intelligent content management system in order to create a total of 700 pages for the annual report at the same time and in three different languages, across countries. The solution: FIRE.work + Microsoft SharePoint.

  • The case of Gütersloher Syskoplan AG shows that small teams can also benefit greatly from FIRE.share. Thus it is possible to create the financial and the auditor’s report with the same contents but with different structures and layout without having to maintain two documents simultaneously. Conclusion: stop worrying about the auditor WP!

Improved language management – company-wide / FIRE.trans and the corporate dictionary

The new FIRE.trans version 6.5 allows to export and import synopses. This makes working with translators and proofreaders a lot easier. And thanks to the Enterprise extension you can link your Excel files with a company-wide text and translation database: the dream of the corporate dictionary finally comes true.

Print from Word – this is how to do it!

Repeatedly, clients tell us that agencies and printers charge extra fees for numerous hours or even days to create the final print versions from FIRE.sys documents – completely unjustified: if the service providers knew their trade, and the job was prepared well at an early stage, it only takes a few hours from the data transfer to the perfect final print version. One of our printing partners explains this process using a client’s report as an example:
